AbstractAIM:Exosome-derivedmicroRNAs(miRNAs)arepotentialdiagnosticbiomarkers.However,littleisknownabouttheireffectivenessasdiagnosticbiomarkersofintracranialaneurysms(IAs).ThisstudyaimedtoexploremiRNAlevelsinplasmaexosomesofpatientswithIAtoidentifypotentialbiomarkersthatpredictthedevelopmentandprogressofIA.

METHODS:Atotalof69patientswithIAand30healthycontrols(HC)wererecruited,amongwhom30hadunrupturedIA(UA),and39hadrupturedIA(RA).ThemiRNAexpressionprofilesofplasmaexosomesin12IApatients(4UAand8RA)and4HCweredeterminedusingnext-generationsequencing.Inaddition,significantlydifferentiallyexpressedmiRNAswerefurtheranalyzedbyQuantitativeReal-TimePCR(qRT-PCR)inavalidationcohortof99subjects.
